ACACIA CLAUS 2024

Acacia Claus is Back!

Our annual fundraiser and toy drive will be here again soon to support the stead family children's hospital in Iowa City. As students, we have all seen the great things this hospital does for children and their families and it makes us want to help too!

This year, we raised over $5,000 in monetary donations and over 100 individual toys, all of which were donated to Stead Family Children's hospital. Thank you to all of those involved in  helping us achieve this goal!!

PAST PHILANTHROPIES

Acacia values human service, as it is one of the pillars our fraternity is built on.

Each Year as a chapter, we host two large-scale charitable events for Stead Family Children’s Hospital: Acacia Claus each Winter, and Acacia Baskets each Spring. Both events raise money and collect toy donations for the children during the holidays. Along with this, We participate in our “7 Days of Service” each semester, where brothers volunteer in the community. You can find us picking up litter around campus, at local food banks, as well as other acts of service.

In the spring of 2021, We created an event called "Push-Ups to get the Word Out", an event where we did push-ups to raise money for the Elizabeth Smart Foundation. We raised nearly $1,000.

In the winter of 2020, our AcaciaClaus event was virtual. While we could not table for toys as we normally would, we still raised nearly $4000 for the Children's Hospital.

In the Summer of 2020, Acacia teamed up with several other fraternities and sororities on campus to raise money through "Miles for Mentoring". Together, we raised over $25,000 for the National Cares Mentoring Program.

In the fall of 2019, our chapter raised over $4500 worth of toys from individuals at locations on campus, around Iowa City, and in Coralville. These toys were then donated to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.

We also raised $300 for the American Cancer Society in the spring of 2019 with our "Cookies Against Cancer" campaign.

At Acacia, we also make sure we support other philanthropies across campus that are put on by other Iowa fraternities and sororities. Regardless of the event or the cause, our members always show up to support.
